How To Vote?

So, some of the people who are familiar with me know that I'm registered as a Libertarian. Being of this political bent, I don't have a candidate who is likely to win any race to support. Additionally, I don't always like the folks the Libertarian party nominates for a particular race. More often than not, I feel like they just pick a person who appears to have their act together enough to not be a joke. In the end, I end up choosing the lesser of the two evils (Democrat & Republican).

This time around, I have the same challenge, who to vote for? This time I do have a guideline I intend to use. A few weeks back when the financial world said they were going to collapse if the US government didn't bail them out, I wrote letters to all of my representation. Essentially, I threatened them writing, "if you vote for the bailout, I'll vote for your opposition in the election!" Some of them listened to me. ;) Others, specifically, Gordon Smith did not. After the bailout passed, we saw things like AIG execs partying it up at a resort to the tune of over $440k: http://www.thesmokinggun.com/archive/years/2008/1007083aig1.html. Thank you very much, senators Smith, Obama, and McCain! Yes, that is right, I WILL NOT be voting for Obama or McCain either! Seriously, they think that is the most worthwhile way to spend OUR money!? How about investing a little in clean water for the 1.8 million children who die each year from diarrhea caused by bad water? (http://www.water.cc/living-water/water-crisis/) Is this really what the US is about?

I have to go, I'll continue this rant later...

I'm with you dave, I was a Smith supporter but I wrote him a letter about how I wasn't okay with him voting for the bailout, he sent me a letter back about why he voted that way after the fact.

I think I'll vote constitution party for said race as I don't like uncle jeff either.

You're singing my tune, Dave. I'm seriously considering writing in Ron Paul.
